This Privacy Policy describes how Lawgmented, Inc. (Lawgmented, we, us, or our) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website at lawgmented.com and when you use our desktop application and related services (collectively, the Services).

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

• Account information: your name and email address (used to create and manage your account and subscription).

• Support communications: information you send to us when you contact support (for example, messages and attachments).

2.2 Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment processor (currently Stripe). We do not store your full payment card details; Stripe processes payment information on our behalf.

2.3 Content you submit for AI features

When you use AI-assisted contract review and drafting features, you may submit text such as contract excerpts, instructions, or prompts (AI Inputs). The Services generate AI-produced results such as review insights and drafted text (AI Outputs).

Lawgmented does not store AI Inputs or AI Outputs on its servers. They are processed only to provide the requested functionality as described in Section 4.

2.4 Automatically collected information

Our website and infrastructure may process limited technical information (for example, IP address, device or browser information, timestamps, and diagnostic logs) to deliver the Services, maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

3. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

• Provide and operate the Services (account creation, authentication, and subscription access).

• Process payments and manage subscriptions (through Stripe).

• Process AI Inputs and generate AI Outputs when you request AI functionality.

• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Services.

• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug or troubleshoot issues.

• Comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. AI processing and third-party AI processors

To provide AI-assisted contract review and drafting, we use third-party AI model providers (currently OpenAI API and Google API) to process AI Inputs and return AI Outputs.

4.1 What we send to AI processors

When you request AI functionality, we transmit your AI Inputs (and may transmit relevant context such as prior instructions for the same request) to the AI model provider to generate AI Outputs.

4.2 Storage and retention of AI Inputs and Outputs

Lawgmented does not store AI Inputs or AI Outputs. However, our AI model providers may temporarily retain prompts and outputs for limited periods for abuse prevention and error monitoring, in accordance with their policies. OpenAI states that abuse monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. Google Gemini services may also retain prompts and outputs for abuse monitoring for up to 55 days.

4.3 Model training

We do not use your AI Inputs or AI Outputs to train our own models. OpenAI and Google state that prompts/inputs and model outputs submitted through their API services are not used to train or fine-tune their models. If either provider offers an optional program or setting that would allow model training or improvement using submitted content, Lawgmented does not opt in to or enable such sharing for your AI Inputs/Outputs. 

4.4 Important note about accuracy

AI Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing AI Outputs before use or reliance, including checking defined terms, cross-references, and consistency with the full agreement.

5. Cookies and tracking

Our website is built with Framer. We use only essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the website (for example, to load pages correctly and support basic site functionality).

Because we use only essential cookies, we do not present a cookie consent banner. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.

If we add non-essential cookies (for example, for analytics beyond essential operations), we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism where required.

6. How we share information

We may share information with the following categories of recipients:

• Service providers (sub-processors) who help us operate the Services, including:

- Stripe (payment processing and subscription management).

- Amazon Web Services (hosting and infrastructure).

- OpenAI (AI model processing for AI-assisted features).

- Google Gemini (AI model processing for AI-assisted features).

• Legal and compliance recipients: if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Lawgmented, our users, or others.

• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business (subject to this Privacy Policy).

We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information.

7. Data retention

We retain your name and email address while your account is active. If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify your account information unless we are required to retain certain information for legal, tax, or security purposes.

As stated above, Lawgmented does not store AI Inputs or AI Outputs. Any retention by AI model providers is governed by their policies and settings.

We may retain limited technical logs for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@lawgmented.com.

10. International users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States, Sweden or other locations where we or our service providers operate.

11. Children

The Services are not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the Last updated date above and, if changes are material, we may provide additional notice.
